Hi Craig,
Thank you for posting the shots of the Sta Rite resto. It was definitely a hard core bring back! I have found out that there are only 3 of this type, the 1 1/2 hp type A3, on the Sta-Rite registry. Maximum rare bird!! Right now the Sta-Rite has about ten hours of run time on it. It has limbered up and sounds good. The exhaust note has gone from a "chuff" to a "bang" Things are seating in, the compression is very good. It coasts about 25 - 30 rpms between firing cycles. This has been a very rewarding project. Now I'm looking for another rare bird in about the same shape so I can start all over again! _________________ May your walk through life have no dogpiles in it. |

Hello, Brian,
I read every page of your journey. WOW!
I have learned much from your trials, and hope to apply the same to a 10 HP Fairbanks "Z", s/n 239924. I have the thing apart, and an initial assessment done. I started a thread with the details. I hope to share the pictures as time goes. Like you, I only get time between jobs.
Thanks again, Great Job!
